During the period of independence, political, economic and social relations of the Republic of Tajikistan with various countries are expanding day by day. Today, more than 100 countries are officially recognized Tajikistan and it establishes diplomatic relations with majority of them. And Tajikistan has embassies and delegation in these countries. Therefore, it is necessary to educate local staff who has language skills, the history, culture, economy of the world countries.
For more than 60 years, the Faculty of Asian and European Languages (Previous Faculty of Orientalism), the only center of training of highly qualified personnel in the country and considered one of the best Orientalism of the former Soviet Union. However, despite the fact that in some universities in Tajikistan, faculties and departments of Orientalism Plan, the faculty is the main center of learning and training of experts in this field.
From the first days of establishment in the Faculty of Asian and European languages Professor Hilol Karimov, professor Vladimir Pavlovich Demidchik, Albert Leonidovich Khromov, associate profs, Hasan Naqqoshov and Faizali Najmonov and the rest worked honestly, which in development of the faculty in preparation of specialist orientalist and improvement science of orientalism in the country have made valuable contribution. Today, the contributions of professors S. Sulaymonov, H. Rajabov, S. Nazarzoda, Mamadnazarov and U. Safarov are significant in the formation of departments, training of young scientists, managing scientific researchers, publishing textbooks, teaching materials and educational programs.
In the Faculty of Asian and European Languages, structural reforms are being continued today. Since 2011, by the denement of this faculty, it began with the sectors of the faculty, along with the study of common Arabic, Persian, Indian and Urdu, teaching Chinese, English, French, German. Along the teaching language and literature teaching of the history, geography and folklore of these countries, also are in charge of teachers of the faculty. The task was laid to be established the entire course and system and a textbook on the basis of the learning languages. If we look at this change in the shortly, it becomes obvious that the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan put all the responsibilities of reforming whole systems and also education of the faculty to the rector of University and heads of the faculty. These fundamental reforms, first of all, aimed at the training of highly qualified qualification staff for various and social structures of the Republic of Tajikistan, which is mostly linked to economic and social relations.
Due to the expansion of teaching hours , changing educational programs, increasing the number of studied countries demands the necessity of systematic changes of managing faculty Asian and European Languages. In the structure of the faculty, added new languages such as English, French, German, Chinese, with the historical, geographical and cultural features studied countries, and also it requires the specialists of these fields to get their job.
During the academic year of 2022-2023, students entered to the Faculty of Asian and European languages by their chosen professions including Arabic-English, Arabic -French, Persian- English, Persian-French, Indian-English, Urdu-English, Pashtu-English, German-Tajik, English-Tajik, French-Tajik, Chinese-Tajik, Chinese-Informatics. Also, upcoming years, the faculty will plan to open new specialties such as Spanish, Turkish, Korean, Japanese, Korean and ect.
There are five departments at the Faculty of Asian and European Languages including departments of Arabic, Persian and Indian philology, the department of foreign languages and the department of English and comparative typology.
